Comprehensive Scoliosis Evaluation & Treatment

Schroth-based physical therapy guided by Movement System analysis.

Treatment is individualized to your unique curve, movement, symptoms, and goals. Schroth uses curve-specific postural correction, positioning, rotational breathing, and exercise to address the three-dimensional (3D) nature of scoliosis.

What to Expect

Visit 1 — Understand Your Curve
We review your X-rays and evaluate your posture, movement, and curve pattern. You’ll begin learning your 3D corrections and how to apply them to everyday positions.

Follow-Up Visits — Learn Your Scoliosis Program
You’ll progressively learn curve-specific positioning, elongation, 3D correction, rotational breathing, muscle activation, and how to maintain your correction during exercise and daily activities.

Ongoing Visits — Progress Toward Independence
Visits are typically closer together while you’re learning, then spaced farther apart as you become more independent. Later visits may focus on exercise progression, changing goals, symptoms, fitness, sports, or periodic reassessment.

How Many Visits Will I Need?

The number and frequency of visits vary based on your curve, goals, progress, and how quickly you become independent with your program. Weekly visits are often helpful initially, with visits spaced farther apart as you progress.

Some patients return periodically for reassessment and exercise progression.

  • "I saw Dr. Vicente multiple times throughout middle school and high school for my scoliosis and for annual movement checkups before each season. Because of her detailed assessments and personalized treatment approach, I was the only one on my Division I collegiate volleyball team who did not get injured. Her impact on my long‑term health and athletic performance has been incredible."

  • “I am pleased to have the opportunity to attest to the knowledge and clinical skills of Dr. Vicente. Her prevailing characteristic is the commitment to be as knowledgeable and skilled as possible in all that she does. I have had the good fortune to know her for over 10 years and to observe how she has systematically added to her understanding and practice ability. As indicated by her qualifications, she has taken learning opportunity after learning opportunity. Since completing her fellowship in movement systems in 2016, Dr. Vicente has continued to take advantage of every chance to continue to interact with movement system practice. Because I have had the opportunity to watch her practice and know how skilled she is, I have referred patients to her. They have all spoken highly of how good and effective she was in their care. Of course, they also comment on how pleasant and caring she is. Because of Dr. Vicente’s understanding and communication skills, she has also helped me and my colleague teach courses in movement system practice. She has guided her colleagues in understanding and applying the basics associated with being a movement expert. I can think of a few people that I value as highly as Dr. Vicente as a wonderful person and one of the most competent practitioners in all aspects of physical therapy.”

  • "I have been working with Dr. Vicente for over 1.5 years. The first treatment provided significant relief using her Schroth Method training. I have had back issues associated with my scoliosis for many decades. Her methodical approach and custom treatment has helped me significantly reduce discomfort associated with my curvature. I am so grateful for her expertise and look forward to continuing our work together."
