Meet
Dr. Vicente
Dr. Vicente has been a physical therapist for over 20 years. By combining scoliosis treatment based on the evolution of the Schroth Method with fellowship training in Movement System Physical Therapy, Dr. Vicente uses a structured, systematic approach to identify movement patterns that may contribute to pain, asymmetry, stiffness, balance deficits, and functional limitations. This allows treatment to address not only the shape of the spine, but also how scoliosis influences movement throughout the entire body.
She is also an educator and a researcher with extensive experience in orthopedics and movement science. Her treatment recommendations are informed by both clinical expertise and research.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
LA Scoliosis & Movement PT is an out-of-network provider and does not bill insurance directly. Payment is required at the time of service. A detailed superbill can be provided after each session so patients may submit for possible reimbursement depending on their insurance plan.
I am also not enrolled as a Medicare provider. Under federal Medicare regulations, PTs cannot opt out of Medicare and privately contract with Medicare beneficiaries for Medicare-covered PT services. Therefore, I am unable to accept Medicare beneficiaries as cash-pay patients for covered PT services.

A physician referral is preferred but is not required to begin treatment. California allows patients to start PT through direct access. However, to continue beyond 45 calendar days or 12 visits, whichever occurs first, you must be evaluated by a physician (in person or via telehealth), and the physician must approve and sign your PT plan of care. Obtaining a referral before your first visit helps simplify this process.
-
Schroth-based physical therapy is a learning process, and most patients benefit from multiple visits to learn, practice, and become independent with their individualized corrections and exercises. The number and frequency of visits vary based on your curve, goals, symptoms, and progress.
